Hi, I'm Tony
I make Meeting Note Takers.
For a while my days were back-to-back calls, and I'd end each one with half a page of notes typed while trying to listen. Louie, my Jack Russell terrier, learned that the sound of a laptop closing meant a walk. He's the one next to the note-taker in the drawings around this site.
A note taker should let you listen instead of type. But they hear a call in very different ways: some send a bot into the meeting, some record from your computer, some never let the audio leave your device. This site lines them up side by side, with what happens to your recordings and what each one costs once the free plan runs out.
Building it taught me to read the privacy page before the pricing page. Otter, one of the best known, says it trains its own AI on de-identified recordings, with no way to opt out stated outside its Enterprise plan. Others say they never do. It's worth knowing before you press record.
I hope it helps you find one that fits how you meet.
Plans and policies change often. If you spot a fact that has moved, write to me at hello@meetingnotetakers.com with a link to the maker's page and I'll fix it. The methodology explains how facts are checked.
Here's to fewer notes typed by hand,
Tony
